The remarkable life and legacy of Moses Maimonides

One of the greatest, if not the greatest medieval Jewish scholar, was Moses Maimonides, who was born in Cordoba, Spain.

The Jews in Spain did not have an easy time then at all.

Many families fled Spain, including the young Maimonides’s family.

He ended up growing up in Fez, Morocco, and became a well-rounded scholar of the first rate.

He became a Rabbi in Egypt, and was a Master of all of Jewish Law.

The entire body of Jewish Law was codified by Maimonides.

He ended up becoming a Doctor, serving the Sultan in Cairo, alongside being the Jewish leader of Egyptian Jewry.

His works are now studied by all Jewish Bible Scholars and laymen.

Excellent documentary.
